This was easy to install and they work great. Would definitely recommend.

For years I have had a set of two large florescent (4 bulb) 4′ fixtures in my kitchen and when a bulb has gone bad its been a pain to change and the light was not that good really. I have been switching out all the lighting in our home to LED so I purchased 3 packages of these lights. My hubby was able to change them out and the first time we turned them on at night it was almost blinding. The funny thing is we are seniors and it only took a week to get use to all that light and its normal to us now. Makes working in my kitchen a breeze.

Very easy to install. It’s bright. Hopefully it will last long.

Wasn¡¯t sure if these LED bulbs were worth the work and expense, but now I love them!Super bright! Install really wasn¡¯t bad for a semi-handy guy. Cut the wires from the ballast and reconnected the remaining wires. (Read instructions).I only had 2 (double bulb) fixtures in my 2 car garage and always felt like I needed to add two more fixtures. Now that I put 4 of these bulbs into my existing 2 fixtures, the whole garage feels like it is sufficiently lit up!Very happy with the purchase! My only reservation is I¡¯ve only had them about one month and we¡¯ll have to see how long they last; Longterm durability TBD.

Quite literally took me only 5 minutes to remove the ballast and rewire! Then install the tubes and IOL!! Instant On Light!! No flicker, no delay and crisp clean light. I have one more fixture to do and will be buying another set.

These worked out great, so we didn’t have to replace the older fixture. The new bulbs clip into the old slots nicely.Wow, these bulbs are bright. We only used 2 of the 4 they sent, and might even remove one of those. It was a bit of effort remove the old ballast. The old wires didn’t stretch far enough (you need to be handy enough to do wiring). Also, didn’t know which wires (red/green and yellow), went where, so had to take apart more of the old fixture than planned. What would be EVEN BETTER is if they gave you “dummy ballast” replacements so you could just snip the old wires and stick them into connectors on the replacment. But overall, this is so much better than florescents, without having to replace the fixture, paint around it, etc.

I recently found out that there are more than one way to direct wire, Ballast Bypass LED bulbs. The first way, that I previously installed, was Line (hot) on one end and Neutral on the other end, just like Florescent bulbs with a Ballast. That¡¯s how these are installed. The second way is one ended like the Feit bulbs and newer Toggled bulbs, one pin is Line or hot, and the other Neutral. The other end is not connected at all. This requires a bi-polarized pin tombstone.I was about the install the Feit LED bulbs, but the Lithonia Lighting Kitchen light fixture is wired in such a way I would have to take down and disassemble he whole fixture to replace or rewire the tombstones. They are also shunted as well, meaning both pins on each end are the same circuit. I tried looking for the old Toggled style like I installed before, but they are no long sold by Amazon. Home Depot also sold the older Toggled LED bulbs, but switched to the split pin (bi-polarized) style like Feit. I believe this style is better and easier, especially if you are bypassing Lithonia fixture with bad Ballasts. As Ballast get old they make humming sound. I hate that sound so I replaced all my lights to ballast bypass or direct wire bulbs. If you are not confident or don¡¯t know about about electrical wiring, hire an electrician or someone who does.

With a little bit of a rewire, these are a great replacement tube for my workbench lights in my shop. They offer plenty of clean light with no flicker or worry about cold weather starts.

  10. IowaPD

Considerably brighter than florescent at almost half the energy consumption and low heat as well.Easy to modify fixtures. Just make one end positive and the other negative and remove the ballast or you can leave it. The fixture itself should already have aground wire in place. Wire strippers a screw driver and wire nuts are all that is needed for most fixtures.
